SPARE TIRES
THE ANNUAL
IMPROV FESTIVAL
The Columbia University improv festival that's always on the ball and off the rails.
Spare Tires, a history.
Way back in 2013, Third Wheel had its genesis. After a few years of mercilessly clawing our way up to the top, one man was thirsty for more. That man was Aaron Fisher (CC'18). Seeing the thriving improv scene at Columbia University in the City of New York and feeling inspired after performing with the Wheels at Georgetown's long-running annual ImprovFest, he asked himself: why don't we host our own damn improv festival? All the other cool universities are doing it. And so Spare Tires was born in 2016, and Third Wheel has not looked back since. Going on its seventh year (with a brief COVID hiatus), Spare Tires has become a beloved annual tradition and a staple of the northeastern college improv scene. Want to see what all the fuss is about? The 6th Annual Spare Tires Festival will be next semester in November in the Lerner Black Box. Check this page and our Facebook page for updates on the event and to catch our upcoming lineup!

Best Spare Tires Memory?
"My senior year when we were having the unexpected rager in East Campus and we didn’t have enough sign-ins so I got the entire Georgetown group to pretend they were Orthodox Jews so they could get in without swiping in since it was Shabbat. Please put that as a quote from me."
